Generally cumbersome to deal with. I just tried to book two tickets to Nizhny Novgorod and had found a train with two places left but when I selected that (and another for the return trip) I was taken to a page where I could select coach for one of the trains but not the other, and the «Продолжить» button was grayed out, probably because I hade only selected the coach for one of the trains. There simply was no way forward. After talking to the customer service it turns out that the only places left were for disabled travellers. Why isn’t this shown on the page where I pick what train I want to go with? If it says «2 seats left» I assume I can book them. If they are only available for handicapped passengers then add a little checkbox «Show seats for disabled» so that I can choose not to see seats I anyway cannot book. (And if I cannot move on from a certain page – tell me in clear text what I need to do to change that, don’t just dump me there with no idea.) According to the operator the information about whether available seats are available to non-disable people or not is displayed if you open the coach info for the respective trains. Don’t hide it there – show it in the oversight, that would save us all a lot of time. Also, dear РЖД, please let your call center/customer service pass on suggestions/complaints/praise to other departments – they are your face towards the public, if they cannot pass on information to other departments (and according to the person I was speaking to, they cannot) you make it much more difficult for your passengers. As РЖД have a monopoly on train trips, they don’t risk loosing customers to as large an extent as many other companies, but they sure could benefit from making things clearer and easier for us potential passangers (everything from ordering tickets online, on the phone, picking up tickets (or printing them), information on the site, and more). UPDATE: It ended up with us going by bus to Nizhny Novgorod and train back to Moscow.
